Davis-Standard Barrier Screws
Extrusion screws are available from ¾-inch (20 mm) to 15-inches (380 mm) in diameter and can be custom designed for any type of extruder for any extrusion process. Davis-Standard's industry leading DSB and DSBM-T barrier screw technologies offer consistently higher output rates, excellent process stability, venting and devolatilization capabilities, superb distributive and dispersive mixing properties and minimized polymer degradation.
Davis-Standard supplies screws for smooth and groove feed extrusion as well as twin screw technology for D-TEX compounding, conical twin screw and parallel twin screw applications. Davis-Standard recently introduced patented DSB-V and DSB-VI barrier screws for smooth and groove feed extrusion to complement its existing high performance DSB I, II and III designs. All feedscrews are designed and manufactured at Davis-Standard's headquarters in Pawcatuck, Connecticut, USA. Designs determined by the Extrusion Process Technology Group are engineered in CAD format and transferred to manufacturing using a CAD/CAM system, ensuring accuracy, repeatability and efficiency. Screws are then milled and ground on CNC machines to the highest industry standards. A team of experienced polymer process engineers and screw design specialists make Davis-Standard's screw design and technical capabilities world-class.
Davis-Standard Extruder Barrels
Any Barrel. Anywhere. Vented, Groove-Feed, Nitrided, Jacketed, Resleeved...D-S Brookes, an affiliation of Davis-Standard, can supply and manufacture barrels to fit any extruder or injection moulding machine. D-S Brookes is able to supply the worldwide plastics and rubber extrusion industry with one piece barrels ranging in bore size from 1.0-in (25mm) to 20-in (500mm), up to 185-in (4700mm) long. Two piece barrels are also available for lengths ranging from 185-in (4700mm) to 295-in (7500mm). Plus we have in-depth knowledge of virtually every make of extruder in operation today.
Longer Wear Life means less downtime, closer tolerance, reduced maintenance, and greater overall production efficiency. We use only the best materials available to us. D-S Brookes alloys provide dramatically enhanced abrasion and corrosion resistance to barrels operating under severe conditions in plastic and rubber extrusion processing equipment, especially those using filled materials including glass, titanium, dioxide, quartz, talc, mineral oxides, etc. In fact, D-S Brookes barrels and resleeves will last four to five times as long as an equivelant nitrided product.
