Davis-Standard's extrusion coating and laminating systems and fabric coating systems are available for a full range of product and process requirements. Capabilities range from simple coating lines with single-position manual splice, manual-transfer winders and unwinds, to fully automated, high-speed (up to 1000 m/min) systems with the latest control systems, feedscrew, coating, die and web handling technology. For shortened delivery and installation, Davis-Standard offers the high performance Cornerstone, Millennium and Galaxy modular extrusion coating systems.
Davis-Standard Galaxy Extrusion Coating System
Davis-Standard's modular extrusion coating systems provide processing efficiency and are pre-engineered and tested for shortened delivery and installation. We offer the latest technology, including mono and coextrusion carriages with extruders from 1.5 - 8 inches (40 - 200 mm), along with any necessary accessories. Cornerstone Ideal for converters in the light to heavy paper and coating and lamination market. This high-speed line includes a dual direction flying splice unwind, stand alone PLC controller, die, automatic transfer winder, three-roll laminator and a 4 1/2-inch (115 mm) extruder mounted on motorized carriage. It is designed for web widths of 63-inches (1600 mm) and line speeds up to 1,000 feet (305 meters) per minute.
Davis-Standard Model 310 Extrusion Coating Die
Automatic Flat Die, Model 310A (ER-WE-PA Davis-Standard) Designed for both single and coextrusion coating applications, this die features a coat hanger manifold with a unique die control program characterized by short reaction times. Additional features include a deckling system with edge bead reduction, removable/exchangeable die lips, and chrome-plated flow channel.
Davis-Standard Model 50 Extrusion Coating Die
Series 50 Internal Deckle Die (Egan Davis-Standard) Ideal for use in extrusion coating applications for single and coextrusion systems. Advantages include reduced edge bead for most grades of polymer, internal deckle system, externally mounted block heaters, increased body cross section, and an automatic profile control model using our patented thermocouple die design to seal the deckled area.
Epic III Windows-based Control System
Davis-Standard's EPIC III is an advanced WINDOWS NT based touch screen extrusion process control system offering complete plant management and process control capabilities. The EPIC features Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE), Object Linking and Embedding for Process Control (OPC), networking and multi-tasking features and an extensive security system. EPIC data and files are readily accessible using DDE and OPC to link information with compatible WINDOWS NT programs. Since it's a network compatible system, an entire extrusion plant can be monitored from any networked PC in any office or on the plant floor, and users can integrate their own connection and remotely access data via Net DDE. The EPIC has customized control screens for simplified operation that are co-engineered with the customer to meet exact process requirements. Operators can take advantage of a complete line overview, or can view specific process details, line controls, extruder data and recipes. The system can only be accessed through multiple levels of security to protect critical set-up functions. Supervisory features include event logging, customized reports, SQC, historical trending, maintenance/troubleshooting data and configurable temperature and pressure set-up.
